Censure
*Censure is a process of Congressional reprimand
*Article I, Section 5 of the Constitution states that, "Each House [of Congress] may determine the Rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member."
*Censure is a formal statement of disapproval for misbehavior, so it leaves a black mark on a Congress member's record. It can also harm that person relationships with other members of their house.
*After receiving censure, the offender still retains their position in Congress, but they are removed from any leadership positions in committees.
